This course explores qualitative research methods in the health sciences. Through theoretical discussions, practical applications, and hands-on data collection and analysis, students will examine approaches such as grounded theory, phenomenology, and narrative inquiry. Emphasis will be placed on researcher-participant relationships, ethical considerations, and establishing validity and reliability. Topics include patient experiences, healthcare disparities, health behavior, and healthcare policy. Students will develop practical skills for applying qualitative inquiry in academic, clinical, administrative, and public health settings. This 3-credit general elective fulfills the second-semester English requirement.
