This course introduces students to major theories and approaches used to analyze film as an artistic, cultural, and social medium. Students will examine concepts such as genre, narrative, authorship, representation, spectatorship, and ideology through theoretical readings and close analysis of films from diverse contexts. Emphasis will be placed on developing critical thinking, visual literacy, and analytical skills while exploring how films reflect and shape cultural values and perspectives. This 3-credit course serves as a general elective.
