Bachelor of Architectural Engineering – Construction Management Track

Construction management is primarily concerned with getting the project completed on time, within budget, and according to the desired specifications. This track teaches students how to manage and lead construction projects using technical and leadership skills within multidisciplinary project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Construction management examines engineering management as a cohesive process, covering project initiation, planning, scheduling, communication, execution, and completion. Students gain practical experience with widely used project management tools and techniques, preparing them to excel in construction management roles.

Students completing this track will be able to:

- Gain a critical understanding of the social, economic, and environmental issues affecting construction projects and the practical approaches to addressing them.
- Gain experience with project management tools, techniques, and software commonly used in the construction industry.
- Become familiar with construction laws and contractual practices.
- Examine case studies and develop effective project management processes and strategies.
- Gain an understanding of financial planning, including planned and earned value analysis.

Track Course Requirements (12 CRHs)

In addition to completing the core course ARE 309 – Project Management and Economics, students should complete the following three technical elective courses:
