ARC 411: Generative AI for Architectural Design

Class Program
Credits 3 Lecture Hours 3

This introductory elective explores how robotics, motion, and interaction have expanded the scope of architectural design. Students examine key examples of kinetic structures, interactive art installations, and responsive environments to understand how architecture can move, react, and communicate. Using basic sensors, actuators, and microcontrollers, students develop two working prototypes that translate spatial ideas into physical form. The course builds a working vocabulary of architectural robotics and a hands-on making practice that prepares students for Electives II and III.
