Introduces the fundamentals of the French language within relevant cultural contexts. The course develops basic proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, while introducing essential grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary. Emphasis is placed on developing effective communication skills for everyday situations and an appreciation of French-speaking cultures.

Builds on the language skills developed in FRE 101, further strengthening students’ proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The course expands grammatical knowledge and vocabulary and develops greater accuracy and confidence in oral and written communication. Students engage with a broader range of everyday situations and cultural contexts while deepening their understanding of French-speaking cultures.
