Introduces the fundamental concepts, theories, and research methods of sociology and their application to the study of individuals, groups, institutions, and societies. Topics include social interaction, culture, social institutions, stratification, communities, and social change. Particular attention is given to the social structure and institutions of Saudi society and to patterns of social and cultural transformation in contemporary Saudi Arabia.
