MAT 212: Linear Algebra

This course introduces the fundamental concepts of linear algebra and their applications. Topics
include systems of linear equations, Gaussian elimination, matrices and matrix operations, matrix
inverses, and determinants with properties and computational techniques. Students will study
vector spaces, norms, dot and cross products, orthogonality, and concepts of linear independence,
rank, and nullity. The course also covers eigenvalues and eigenvectors, as well as applications of
linear systems. In addition, students will be introduced to optimization through linear inequalities,
linear programming, and the simplex method. Emphasis is placed on both theoretical foundations
and practical problem-solving, preparing students for applications in mathematics, computer
science, and engineering.
